For 110 years the economic life of Lorain County has been tied in one way or another to the automobile industry. An early pioneer in the auto industry was Arthur Garford who started auto production in Elyria in 1904. A company built Carroll automobiles in Lorain. After a pause of nearly three decades when no new automobiles or trucks were built in Lorain County, Ford Motor Company started building vehicles in the county and continues to do so today.
Join us to hear the story of how the automotive industry heritage of Lorain County has evolved.
